Creative Jam 2026: A Celebration of North Wales Talent

What happens when you give a group of creatives 24 hours, a theme of “Gwnewch y Pethau Bychain” (Do the Little Things), and the challenge to celebrate Welsh culture? You get the Creative Jam 2026.

Held this past February, our first-ever Creative Jam brought together filmmakers and game developers from across the region. Supported by the Welsh Government’s St David’s Day 2026 Pilot Support Fund, the event challenged participants to capture the spirit of modern Wales.

The Challenge

The rules were simple but strict: 24 hours to create a game or film from scratch. As outlined in our official Jam Rules, every entry had to incorporate the Welsh word “Cariad” (Love) and include a Daffodil. Beyond that, the creators were free to interpret “Wales and Welshness” through contemporary stories, history, or language.

The Winners

The standard of creativity was outstanding, with worthy winners taking home the top prizes –  Available to watch and Play on our winners showcase page.

• Adra (Kurt & Daf) – Film Winner: This team came out on top in the film category, winning £2,500 and a free day at Vedri Virtual Studios.

  

• Petha Bychain (Asher Chan & MJ Dixon) – Second Place Film: Congratulations to Asher and MJ for coming in second. They won £1,500 and an exciting drone flying lesson with Aerialworx.

  

• Dringo Draig (Estelle) – Game Winner: Estelle took first prize in the gaming category with Ty Mali, winning £1,000. She also received expert advice on hosting the game from Elgan at M-SParc, a Degree Software Developer Apprentice.

Looking Ahead: Creative North Awards 2026 (GC26)

The celebration doesn’t end here! We are now moving forward to our biggest night of the year. This is your chance to nominate the creative stars who are making a difference in North Wales.
